California Screamin Ride at Disney California Adventure

My favorite ride at the the Disney California Adventure park is California Screamin’. It’s the only coaster with a loop and it’s intense. Compared to most roller coasters in the area at other theme parks, this one is surprisingly long. The ride is approximately two minutes long, that’s actually really good for an amusement park ride.

My daughter, who is 11 dared me to take video on the ride. Silly me, I accepted the challenge because I thought the video would be great for our family blog. My phone has a video camera, it also has an insurance policy so I can get a new one should it end up in the Paradise Bay.

The most amazing accomplishment was holding onto my phone the whole time. There were a few times when I was thinking “oh man, this is it, call T-mobile! I need a new phone!” I did not however drop it. So check out my rad video of my daughter and I riding the California Screamin’ Ride.

Where is the California Screamin Ride Located?

On the Paradise Pier, it’s pretty hard to miss but here’s map!

I took a picture of this map at the park, see the little “you are here” in red? That’s where I took the picture. I knew it would come in handy when I needed to point people in the direction to go.

You will find the California Scramin ride located on the Paradise Pier, just follow the screams… or use the map, both work. Look for the Paradise Pier, do you see that BIG white roller coaster that takes up the entire length of the boardwalk area, that’s it.

It’s the best ride in the whole park. Better than Tower of Terror which is weak sauce if you ask me, the story is cool but the ride is weak, but that’s another page another time. If you want a real thrill ride at the Disney California Adventure theme park, go to California Screamin’.

What is the line like?

Depends on when you go!

The weekends are insane for the most part all the time. Also, Monday and Friday are not the best days for visiting the park if you want shorter lines. Best days to visit all around is Tuesday through Thursday with the exception of summer, it’s always a mad house. Starting in the middle of May it gets gradually worse until school lets back in. Peak time being July, yikes! Hot too, avoid July at all costs if you can.

This ride has a relatively fast moving line and there is hardly ever more than a ten minute wait Tuesday through Thursday. My daughter will get on the ride 4 times in a half hour on a good day. I think a lot of people don’t come to this park for the thrill rides so that’s why the line is relatively decent for the most part.
