Bruce Lee – The Little Dragon

You remember the little skinny kid that kicked a lot of butt back in the early 70′s in movies like Enter The Dragon and The Chinese Connection. Yea that’s the one! BRUCE LEE, not Jet Li, not Jackie Chan or any of those other guys. Bruce Lee was the original little skinny kid that kicked everyone’s butts in such a cool fashion that you wanted to watch him do it again and again!

Bruce Lee – The Legend

Bruce Lee was a rising star that got extinguished before his time was due. Often, a movie stars or rock stars popularity soars after they die at a young age. Bruce Lee was only 32 years old when he died on July 20th, 1973. His status as a movie star was rising incredibly fast leading up to his death. Only 3 weeks after Bruce Lee passed away, his masterpiece movie – Enter The Dragon – was released to audience across the globe. Creating waiting lines at movie theaters in every town, or city that wrapped around city blocks. Bruce Lee was working on becoming a living legend when he suddenly died from an allergic reaction to a pill he took to reduce a headache. The official cause of death is Cerebral Edema or water on the brain caused from the over reaction to the medicine he took.

Bruce Lee was an incredibly gifted and talented person. He had the ability to learn quickly. Bruce Lee was very dedicated and had a strong desire for exercising and learning what his body was capable of doing. Feats such as 2 finger push ups and speed punches and kicks that impressed his friends and on lookers. Bruce Lee was way more than just some skinny Chinese kid that looked flashy for the cameras. Bruce Lee was the real deal. A martial arts master, that surpassed any other master of the martial arts and made them all look like a bunch of wimps.

Bruce Lee – The Myth

After Bruce Lee passed away in July of 1973, his legendary status rose to new heights. Rumors and speculations surrounding his sudden deaths flew through the streets of San Francisco, Seattle,plus every other city and streets of America. Even back home in China, the rumors were so wide spread. From being poisoned by the Chinese Mafia, to him being stroke by a one inch death blow. Rumors fueled Bruce Lee’s popularity and secured his status as one of the all time best in Martial Arts and fighting action films as well.

The legend of Bruce Lee lives on today. With the power of the internet, we have instant access to archived footage of some of the best videos of Bruce Lee. From film segments to home videos. There are tons of videos of this incredible athlete performing some pretty amazing feats. You see, every since I was around 8 years old, which would have been in 77-78, I have had a huge fascination with Bruce Lee. It was around that time when Bruce Lee’s final movie – The Game of Death – was released. So Bruce Lee was everywhere. On lunch boxes, posters, t-shirts. You name a product and his name and image was on it. When I became a writer on the Squidoo.com website, all the help and how to pages always said to write about something you have a passion for and are knowledgeable about. So it was natural for me to write about Bruce Lee. I know longer own that squidoo lens though. But just the same here it is so you can take a look at it.

If Bruce Lee was still alive today I am sure he would have developed his fighting style Jeet Kune Do into the best fighting style ever. On July 20th, 1973 Bruce Lee was in Hong Kong filming his movie Enter the Dragon. During a filming break Bruce had complained of a head ache and took a couple head ache pills and laid down to rest.

I loved creating that Squidoo lens and even won a few awards for the lens. Later in my career at Squidoo I started selling Squidoo lenses and sadly, my favorite all time lens ended up with a new owner. I earned about a months worth of pay for selling the lens and did own it for 2 years, so I am ok that the lens has a new owner now.
