Carmageddon T Shirts

What is Carmageddon? Carmageddon refers to the fact that on July 15th, 2011, the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles was closed for a 10 mile stretch starting at the 101 Freeway and ending at the 10 Freeway. On a normal weekend the 405 sees 500,000 cars traveling through the Sepulveda Pass, so closing this major artery to traffic is very significant to Los Angeles drivers.

They are expecting gridlock as this $1 billion dollar project progresses. In the worst case scenario, traffic could be backed up for 20 miles or so. Some are calling it the epic traffic jam. The term is appropriate considering that the 405 is the busiest freeway in the world.
