A Delicious Summer 7-layer Salad
When preparing to make a 7-layer Salad you must have a glass bowl. A glass bowl allows your guests to see the magnificence that is you 7-layer Salad. What I love about this recipe for 7-layer salad is that you are free to change things out. If you don’t like something, switch it out for something you do like. A 7-layer Salad is a salad that is 7 layers, you can choose the layers, this is more a guideline than a recipe. Take your 7-layer Salad to your next potluck, picnic or party. When entertaining a 7-layer Salad is always a beautiful addition to the food table.
RECIPE: 7-Layer Salad
Ingredients for a 7-layer-salad:
• 1 lb cooked bacon, crumbled
• 1 large head iceberg lettuce – rinsed, dried, and chopped
• 1 red onion, chopped
• 1 (10 oz) package frozen green peas, thawed
• 10 oz shredded Cheddar cheese
• 1 cup chopped cauliflower
• 1 1/4 cups mayonnaise
• 2 tablespoons white sugar
• 2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions for 7-Layer Salad
1. In a large flat bowl, place the chopped lettuce and top with a layer of onion, peas, shredded cheese, cauliflower and bacon.
2. In a separate bowl Whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar and Parmesan cheese.
3. Drizzle over salad and refrigerate until cold.
